Embedded banking is a hot space today, but it is complex and expensive for digital businesses to incorporate into their products and services.  Weavr is changing that by making it easy and quick for any innovator to design, build and run embedded banking solutions that are a perfect fit for what they need in their application.  Weavr’s approach is to simplify the process enough to deliver all this online, and in many cases, purely through self-service.

The Role

Weavr is recruiting for an HR Lead who will have a pivotal role in meeting the requirements of the business as well as employees. We are looking for an all-rounder that can manage administrative and operational roles taking possible measures to execute policies, foster relationships, increase employee retention, motivate employees to achieve goals and strive to maintain a healthy culture.

What you’ll do

Oversee daily operations of the HR department supporting the company’s mission and strategic vision.

Implement effective sourcing, screening and interviewing techniques and manage the recruitment process from beginning to end including drafting of adverts, shortlisting candidates, scheduling interviews and acting as an active participant in the interviewing process.

Contract drafting and communication with prospective candidates and contractors to engage them with the company as well as manage the induction process of new hires.

Handle administration of new hires and terminated employees as well as support with residency permit administration for Non-EU employees based in Malta.

Ensure all employee records are maintained and updated with information or changes in employment status.

Work in partnership with the management team to tackle key team issues, providing overall leadership and guidance to improve relations.

Carry out payroll administration for UK and Malta, manage leave entitlements and the administration of expenses management.

Develop and manage HR policies and ensure employees understand and comply with them.

Support in succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management.

Assess training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives for all employees.

Manage staff wellness initiatives and organising team events as well as general office administration.

Who you are

You have a good understanding of HR processes, Employment Law and payroll administration, gained through direct work experience, and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, HR Management or a relevant discipline

Someone who has a high level of integrity and socially responsible for maintaining a positive working climate

Naturally patient person and a good listener

A person who takes pride in building relationships, internally and externally (acting as the Weavr Brand Ambassador, promoting Weavr as an employer of choice)

Place of Work

Presently our team is concentrated around London and Malta but we expect to have presence in other capitals in Europe.  We often work remotely but have face to face meetings from time to time.  We expect the role to be based in Malta, but welcome candidates living in other European cities to apply, either to work remotely or would consider relocating to Malta.


Your remuneration package will depend on your experience and will include health insurance and stock options.
